Our 2010 Annual Pledge Drive
At the time I am writing this article, we are at the tail end of this year’s pledge drive. Thank you to all of those who have already sent in your pledge cards and to those who wait until the last minute, I am usually in this category. It is officially the last minute.
What is a pledge drive?
The pledge drive is the annual process of reaching out to every household in our church community of members and friends and asking them for a pledge – a promise – of financial support. This pledge is not a contract and you can change it up or down if you need to.
Below is a table from the UUA website with a suggested giving guide. The Adjusted Annual Income in the table is your income after subtracting large expenses like tuition, medical bills, child care, etc. I know that my family’s pledge was below what was suggested here. We have increased our pledge this year to bring it in line with the guide.
